Effect of nursing measures based on Roy adaptation theory on the quality of life in patients with central spastic paralysis
Objective To explore the effect of nursing measures based on Roy adaptation theory on the quality of life in patients with central spastic paralysis. Methods Eighty-two patients with central spastic paralysis admitted to Beijing Jishuitan Hospital,Capital Medical University were se-lected as the research subjects.Among them, patients who visited from April 2021 to March 2022 were selected as control group(41 cases),and pa-tients who visited from April 2022 to March 2023 were selected as research group(41 cases). The control group received routine rehabilitation treatment, while research group adopted nursing measures based on Roy adaptation theory on the basis of routine rehabilitation treatment.Modified Ashworth scale(MAS),Fugl-Meyer assessment scale(FMA),Medical Research Council(MRC)muscles strength score and stroke-specific quality of life scale(SS-QOL)scores of two groups were compared. Results Overall analysis found that there were statistically significant differences in in-tergroup comparison, time point comparison, and interaction effects among MAS,FMA,MRC and SS-QOL scores(P<0.05).Further pairwise com-parison,within group comparison:MAS score of control group at eight weeks after intervention was lower than that before intervention, while MAS scores of research group at two, four and eight weeks after intervention were lower than those before intervention(P<0.05);FMA scores of control group at four and eight weeks after intervention were higher than those before intervention, while FMA scores of research group at two, four and eight weeks after intervention were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05);MRC scores of two groups at two, four and eight weeks after interven-tion were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05);SS-QOL scores of research group at two, four and eight weeks after intervention were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05).Comparison between groups:MAS scores of research group at two, four and eight weeks after inter-vention were lower than those of control group, and FMA,MRC and SS-QOL scores of research group at two, four and eight weeks after intervention were higher than those of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of nursing measures based on Roy adaptation theory in patients with central spastic paralysis can significantly improve their resting muscle tone, upper limb motor function and muscle strength, and improve their quality of life.
