Effect of intervention measures under health empowerment theory on pa-tients with distal radius fractures
Objective To explore the effect of intervention measures under health empowerment theory on patients with distal radius fractures. Methods A total of 100 patients with distal radius fractures admitted to Nanjing First Hospital,Nanjing Medical University from December 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group(50 cases,rou-tine nursing intervention)and observation group(50 cases, routine nursing intervention combined with intervention measures under health empow-erment theory). Both groups continued the intervention until discharge and were followed up for six months. The recovery status of two groups was compared;the self-care ability(exercise of self-care agency scale[ESCA])before intervention and before discharge was compared between two groups;and the wrist joint mobility before intervention and at six months follow-up were compared between two groups. Results The fracture heal-ing time of observation group was shorter than that of control group(P<0.05).There was no statistical significant difference in hospitalization time between two groups(P>0.05).Before discharge,ESCA scores in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and those in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).At six months of follow-up,the mobility of wrist joint dorsalis, palmaris flexion, ulnar de-viation,and radialis deviation in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and those in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Intervention measures under health empowerment theory can shorten the healing time, improve their self-care ability, and promote the recovery of wrist joint mobility of patients with distal radius fractures.
