Application effect of self-transcendence theory in tumor nutrition educa-tion combined with comprehensive nursing intervention in elderly patients with gastric cancer
Objective To explore the application effect of self-transcendence theory in tumor nutrition education combined with comprehensive nursing intervention in elderly patients with gastric cancer. Methods A total of 180 elderly patients with gastric cancer admitted to the First Affili-ated Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force Medical University from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected. They were divided into study group(90 cases)and control group(90 cases)according to random number table method. The control group received comprehen-sive nursing intervention, and study group adopted the self-transcendence theory in tumor nutrition education on the basis of control group.Symp-tom improvement was compared between the two groups;the nutritional status(patient-generated subjective global assessment[PG-SGA]),psycho-logical status(Hamilton anxiety scale[HAMA],Hamilton depression scale[HAMD])before and after intervention were compared between two groups;and the nursing satisfaction of two groups was compared. Results The symptom improvement of study group was better than that of control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the PG-SGA scores of both groups were lower than those before intervention, and those of study group were lower than those of control group(P<0.05).After intervention,HAMA and HAMD scores of two groups were lower than those before intervention, and those of study group were lower than those of control group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of study group was better than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of self-transcendence theory in tumor nutrition education and comprehensive nursing intervention can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of elderly patients with gastric cancer, improve the nutritional and psychological status, and enhance clinical satisfaction.
