Study of mediating effect of psychological resilience on post-traumatic growth and coping styles of pregnant women terminating pregnancy in the second trimester
Objective To explore the mediating role of psychological resilience between post-traumatic growth and coping styles in mid-pregnancy terminated mothers.Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 368 pregnant women terminating pregnancy received by the De-partment of Obstetrics of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from February 2020 to July 2023 as the study subjects.The post-traumatic growth,psychological resilience,and coping styles of pregnant women were assessed,the relationship among the three was analyzed,and the mediation effect was tested.Results The post-traumatic growth inventory scores of pregnant women terminating pregnancy in the second trimester were positively correlated with psychological resilience scale for adults scores and simplified coping style questionnaire positive dimension scores(r>0,P<0.05),and negatively correlated with simplified coping style questionnaire negative dimension scores(r<0,P<0.05);psychologi-cal resilience scale for adults scores were positively correlated with simplified coping qaestionnaire-positive dimension scores(r>0,P<0.05),and negatively correlated with simplified coping style questionnaire-negative dimension scores(r<0,P<0.05).Psychological resilience partially medi-ated the relationship between post-traumatic growth and positive and negative coping styles,with mediating effects of 53.26%and 81.03%,respec-tively.Conclusion Post-traumatic growth in pregnant women terminating pregnancy is closely related to psychological resilience and coping styles,and clinical attention should be paid to psychological resilience to improve post-traumatic growth by improving maternal psychological resilience.
