Evaluation of the effect of Linalotide combined with compound polyethy-lene glycol electrolyte on intestinal preparation in elderly patients with chronic constipation
Objective To investigate the effect of Linalotide combined with compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte on intestinal preparation in elderly patients with chronic constipation.Methods A total of 84 elderly patients with chronic constipation who visited Jinhua People's Hospital in Zhejiang Province from June 2022 to June 2023 were divided into two groups by random number table method,with 42 cases in each group.The control group received compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte for intestinal preparation,and the observation group received Linalotide combined with compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte for intestinal preparation.The intestinal cleanliness of the two groups was compared by Boston bowel preparation scale(BBPS),and the time of first defecation,colonoscopy results(operation time,endoscopic depth,polyp detection rate),and the inci-dence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total BBPS score and the left colon,right colon,and transverse colon BBPS scores in the observation group were higher than the control group(P＜0.05).The time of first defecation of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group(P＜0.05).The operation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group,the insertion depth was lower than that of the control group,and the detection rate of polyp was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Linalotide combined with PEG can im-prove the intestinal cleanliness of colonoscopy in elderly patients with chronic constipation,shorten the time of first defecation,shorten the operation time of colonoscopy,reduce the penetration depth of colonoscopy,improve the detection rate of polyps,and reduce the incidence of adverse reac-tions,which is worth promoting.
