Effect of patient participation control combined with prospective inter-vention on chemotherapy patients with acute myeloid leukemia undergo-ing peripherally inserted central venous catheters catheterization
Objective To explore the effect of patient participation control combined with prospective intervention on chemotherapy patients with acute myeloid leukemia(AML)undergoing peripherally inserted central venous catheters(PICC)catheterization. Methods A prospective study was conducted on 100 chemotherapy patients with AML undergoing PICC catheterization at Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January 2022 to April 2023.They were divided into two groups by random number table method, with 50 patients in each group.Control group was implemented with prospective intervention, while observation group received patient participation control combined with prospective intervention, with intervention lasted for six months. The self-care ability, psychological status between two groups were compared be-fore catheterization and six months of catheterization. Results At six months of catheterization, exercise of self-care agency scale scores in two groups were higher than those before catheterization, and those of observation group were higher than those of control group(P<0.05).At six months of catheterization,self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale scores in two groups were lower than those before catheteriza-tion,and those of observation group were lower than those of control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in total incidence of com-plications between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Patient participation control combined with prospective intervention can improve the self-care ability of chemotherapy patients with AML undergoing PICC catheterization, alleviate negative emotions.
