Clinical effect of Self-designed Wenjing Tongluo Decoction in the treat-ment of lumbar disc herniation
Objective To explore the clinical effect of Self-designed Wenjing Tongluo Decoction in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation.Methods A total of 122 patients with lumbar disc herniation admitted to Meishan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from February 2020 to December 2022 were selected as subjects and they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method,with 61 cases in each group.The control group was treated with targeted radiofrequency thermocoagulation,while the observation group was treated with Self-designed Wenjing Tongluo Decoction.Both groups were treated for three courses.The clinical effect of the two groups was evaluated.Tradi-tional Chinese medicine symptom score,surface electromyography level(lelt side integrated electromyography[iEMG],right side iEMG,left-side mean power frequency[MPF],right side MPF),inflammatory factor level(matrix metalloproteinase-7[MMP-7],hypoxia inducible factor-2 α[HIF-2α],prostaglandin E2[PGE2]),and treatment safety were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results The clinical effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and those in observation group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05).After treat-ment,left side iEMG,right side iEMG,left side MPF,and right side MPF in both groups were higher than those before treatment,and those in ob-servation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of MMP-7,HIF-2α,and PGE2 in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no sig-nificant difference in incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The Self-designed Wenjing Tongluo Decoction has good therapeutic effect on lumbar disc herniation,which can improve traditional Chinese medicine symptoms,increase the level of electromyo-graphic indicators in the lumbar spine,inhibit the expression of inflammatory factors,and has good treatment safety.
