Application effect of nursing intervention based on fear avoidance model on patients with multiple myeloma
Objective To explore the application effect of nursing intervention based on fear avoidance model on patients with multiple myeloma(MM).Methods A total of 115 patients with MM who were treated in Lishui Municipal Central Hospital,Zhejiang Province between January 2022 and January 2023 were selected as the study subjects,and they were divided into control group(57 cases)and study group(58 cases)by random number table method.The control group received routine nursing,while study group were given nursing intervention based on fear avoidance model on the basis of control group,intervention for two months.The scores of psychological resilience(Connor-Davidson resilience scale),hope level(Herth hope scale),pain degree(visual analogue scale[VAS],pain catastrophizing scale[PCS]),and disease fear(fear of progression question-naire-short form)were compared between two groups before and after intervention.Results After intervention,the scores of fortitude,strength,and optimism in both groups were higher than before intervention,and those in study group were higher than those in control group,and the differ-ences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of positive attitude towards reality and future,taking positive actions,and maintaining close relationship with others in both groups were higher than before intervention,and those in study group were higher than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of VAS and PCS in both groups were low-er than before intervention,and those in study group were lower than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of social family and physiological health in both groups were lower than before intervention,and those in study group were lower than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on fear avoidance model can effectively improve the psychological resilience and hope level of patients with MM,and can relieve the pain and disease fear of patients.
