Effect of nursing care based on knowledge,attitude,and practice theory on psychological adaptation and self-care ability of patients with perma-nent colostomy after rectal cancer surgery
Objective To observe the effect of nursing care based on knowledge,attitude,and practice theory on psychological adaptation and self-care ability of patients with permanent colostomy after rectal cancer surgery.Methods A total of 102 patients with permanent colostomy after rectal cancer surgery admitted to the Affiliated Huaian NO.1 People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the observation objects,and they were divided into experimental group and control group according to random number table method,with 51 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing service based on permanent colostomy for rectal cancer,and the nursing time was from admission to three months after discharge.The experimental group introduced nursing intervention mechanism based on knowledge,attitude,and practice theory on the basis of the control group,and the nursing time was the same as that of the control group.The score of psychosocial adaptation scale,self-care ability,quality of life score,and overall complication rate were compared between the two groups after in-tervention.Results After nursing,the scores of social psychological adjustment scale of the two groups were higher than before nursing,and those in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the scores of ostomy nursing skills,daily life management,social communication,and functional exercise in two groups were higher than before nursing,and those in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the overall complication rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the psychological,social,material life,and physical scores of the two groups were higher than those before nursing,and those in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The introduction of nursing intervention mechanism based on knowledge,attitude,and practice theory in patients with permanent colostomy cases after rectal cancer surgery can achieve the goal of improving social psychological fitness and self-care ability,reduce the probability of stomy com-plications,and optimize the quality of life.
