Effect of empathy training on depressive symptoms and emotional func-tion in adolescents with first-episode depression
Objective To analyze the effect of empathy training on depressive symptoms and emotional function in adolescent patients with first-episode depression(FED).Methods A total of 82 adolescent FED patients hospitalized in Qinhuangdao Jiulong Mountain Hospital,Hebei Province from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected,and they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method,with 41 cases in each group.The control group was given narrative nursing intervention,and observation group was given empathy training on the basis of control group,both groups were treated for four weeks.The scores Hamilton depression scale(HAMD),repeatable battery for the as-sessment of neuropsychological status(RBANS),36-item short form health survey(SF-36)before and after nursing between two groups were com-pared,and the satisfaction of two groups was compared.Results After nursing,the scores of HAMD in both groups were lower than before nursing,and those in observation group were lower than those in control group,and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the scores of RBANS and SF-36 in both groups were higher than before nursing,and those in observation group were higher than those in control group,and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction of observation group was better than that of control group,and the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Empathy training can effectively alleviate depressive symptoms,improve emotional func-tion,cognitive function,and patient satisfaction in adolescent FED patients.
