Impact of traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application combined with self-made Bufei Jianpi Yanger Paste on immune function and serum indi-cators in children with asthmatic bronchitis of lung deficiency syndrome
Objective To explore the impact of traditional Chinese medicine acupoint therapy and self-made Bufei Jianpi Yanger Paste on immune function and serum indicators in children with asthmatic bronchitis of lung deficiency syndrome.Methods Ninety-eight children with asthmatic bronchitis who received treatment in Rugao Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital,Jiangsu Province from January 2021 to January 2023 were se-lected as the study objects,and they were divided into control group and experimental group according to random number table method,with 49 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the experimental group was treated with acupoint appli-cation of traditional Chinese medicine and self-made Bufei Jianpi Yanger Paste for one week.Peripheral blood lymphocyte level,inflammation level(procalcitionin[PCT],C-reactive protein[CRP],tumor necrosis factor-α[TNF-α],and interleukin-6[IL-6]),traditional Chinese medicine syn-drome score,comfort level(general comfort questionnaire[GCQ]),and sleep quality were compared between the two groups before and after treat-ment.Results Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the levels of CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+,and natural killer(NK)cells between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+,and NK cells in both groups were higher than before treatment,and those in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group level,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in PCT,CRP,TNF-α,and IL-6 levels between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of PCT,CRP,TNF-α,and IL-6 in two groups were lower than before treatment,and those in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in scores of fever,ex-pectoration,shortness of breath,and wheezing between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the scores of fever,expectoration,shortness of breath,and wheezing in the two groups were lower than before treatment,and those in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in GCQ score,total sleep time,and sleep latency between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the GCQ scores of the two groups were higher than before treatment,the total sleep time was longer than before treatment,and the sleep latency was shorter than before treatment,and GCQ score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group,the total sleep time was longer than that of the control group,and the sleep latency was shorter than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application and self-made Bufei Jianpi Yanger Paste enhances immune function and improves sleep quality in children with asthmatic bronchitis of lung deficiency syndrome.
