Reflections on practice of medical English teaching based on narrative competence
Medical English teaching should not only focus on learners'medical English acquisition,but also realize the function of educating learners.How to educate learners through moral cultivation and value shaping while realizing knowledge learning and competence development is an important issue that remains unaddressed in medical English teaching.The teaching design based on narrative competence provides some insight for medical English teaching that pursues understanding and value shaping.This article is based on close reading training,using reflective writing as a testing tool,organizing students to conduct narrative medical English close reading in class,writing reflective journals based on a reflective framework after class,and teachers summarize student cognitive and emotional changes by analyzing reflective journals.The practice shows that medical English teaching based on narrative competence not only helps to enhance students'academic writing skills,but also further enrich the connotation of educating the learners.Teaching practice enriches students'cognitive structure,cultivates their subjectivity consciousness and emo-tion perception,and guides them to shape their career ideals in realizing their professional values.
