Observation on the curative effect of two root canal dredging methods in the treatment of primary molar with sinusoidal periapical inflammation
Objective To compare the efficacy of two root canal dredging methods in the treatment of mandibular primary molar with sinusoidal pe-riapical inflammation. Methods A total of 80 cases in the Department of Stomatology,Fuyang People's Hospital from April 2022 to April 2023 were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The observation group was dredged with mechanical nickel-titanium file, and the control group was dredged with stainless steel K-file.After dredging, both groups were treat-ed with mechanical nickel-titanium instrument root canal preparation and one-time root canal filling with Vitapex paste, following up for six months. The time of each canal dredging and each root canal preparation, postoperative pain, periodontal index(sulus bleeding index[SBI],probing depth[PD],gingival index[GI]),and short and long term curative effects were compared between the two groups. Results The dredging time of each canal and the preparation time of each root canal in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).The postoperative pain grade of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in GI,SBI scores, and PD between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,GI,SBI scores, and PD in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant;there were no significant differences in GI,SBI scores, and PD between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups at short and long term after surgery(P>0.05).Conclusion Nickel-titanium are suitable for children root canal treatment for shorting operation time and reducing pain reaction.
