Application effect of modified Canadian triage and acuity scale in emer-gency obstetric triage
Objective To explore the application effect of modified Canadian triage and acuity scale(CTAS)in emergency obstetric triage.Meth-ods A total of 3 600 pregnant women in the Department of Emergency,Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital,Capital Medical University from July to December 2020 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group(pregnant women in July,September, and Novem-ber)and observation group(pregnant women in August,October, and December),with 1 800 pregnant women in each group. The control group was treated with conventional pretest triage standard, and observation group was treated with modified CTAS triage standard. The triage level, waiting time, triage accuracy, and satisfaction were compared between two groups. Results There was significant difference in triage level between two groups(P<0.05).The waiting time of grade Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ in observation group were shorter than those in control group, the differences were sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).The triage accuracy and satisfaction of observation group were higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The modified CTAS triage standard can significantly shorten the waiting time of pregnant wom-en,improve the triage accuracy and satisfaction, and can be used as one of the emergency obstetrics triage tools.
