Effect of changing position nursing on respiratory rate and recovery pro-cess of neonatal pneumonia
Objective To explore the effect of changing position nursing on respiratory rate(RR)and recovery process of neonatal pneumonia. Methods Eighty-nine cases of neonatal pneumonia admitted to Taihe County People's Hospital in Anhui Province from January to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects, and they were divided into the routine group and the intervention group by using the method of randomized nu-merical table.Forty-five children in the routine group were treated with routine respiratory care during the treatment period;44 children in the in-tervention group were treated with positional change nursing intervention in addition to routine care during the treatment period. The RR,saturation of peripheral oxygen saturation(SpO2),and symptom improvement time were observed after 5 d of intervention. Results Overall analysis revealed that, the differences in RR time point comparison and interaction were statistically significant(P<0.05);the differences in SpO2 between groups, time point comparison, and interaction were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further pairwise comparison were made within groups:RR on days 1,3,and 5 of admission and SpO2 on days 3 and 5 of admission compared with day 1 of admission in the intervention group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);RR on days 3 and 5 of admission compared with day 1 of admission in the conventional group, and SpO2 on day 5 of admission compared with day 1 of admission, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparisons between groups:the RR on day 1,3,and 5 of admission in the intervention group were lower than those in the conventional group, and the SpO 2 was higher than that in the conven-tional group(P<0.05).The disappearance time of abnormal body temperature, dyspnea, shortness of breath, cough, and moist crackles in the inter-vention group was shorter than that in the conventional group after the intervention, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclu-sion The implementation of position change nursing in the treatment of neonatal pneumonia can effectively promote better improvement of RR and SpO2,accelerate the improvement of children's clinical symptoms, and help shorten the recovery process.
