Research on fairness and utilization of health resource allocation in Jiangsu Province from a spatial perspective
Objective To analyze the fairness and utilization of health resource allocation in Jiangsu Province from a spatial perspective,and to provide scientific reference for optimizing the medical resources allocation.Methods Based on the concentration degree and relative development speed of health resources,the fairness and utilization of health resources allocation in Jiangsu Province from 2015 to 2021 were evaluated;Boston matrix method was used to evaluate the allocation and utilization of health resources,and the spatial characteristics were displayed by geographic information systems.Results The fairness of health resources allocation by population in three regions was relatively close in 2015-2021,but the geographic dimension is quite different,with the passage of time,and the gap between Southern Jiangsu and Northern Jiangsu increased from 2.32 times in 2015 to 2.47 times in 2021;in 2021,the highest geographical difference of practicing(assistant)physicians in 13 prefecture-level cities was 4.92 times,and the highest population difference was 1.47 times by population;analyzing the matching pattern of the relative development speed of the allocation and utilization rate of health resources showed that,high allocation-high utilization pattern of health resource allocation and utilization was found that in Nanjing,Wuxi,and Xuzhou,in high allocation-low utilization pattern was found in Taizhou,Lianyungang,and Suqian.Conclusion The spatial differences in the distrilaction and utilization of health resources in Jiangsu Province should not be ignored.It is recommended that a policy design framework of"regional governance and classified mana-gement"be constructed to provide a decision-making basis for the government to optimize the allocation of health resources and carry out spatial planning for health.
