Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy complicated with myeloid hypertension-like syndrome:report of four cases
Intraoperative and postoperative myeloid hypertension-like syndrome caused by percutaneous spinal endoscopic surgery is a rare complication of minimally invasive lumbar spine surgery,and only case reports have been reported in China.This article retrospectively analyzes clinical data of four patients with percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy complicated with myeloid hypertension-like syndrome in Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2014 to December 2021,and summarize based on literature.Main clinical manifestations of myeloid hypertension-like syndrome are sudden and severe pain in head and neck,chest tightness and tinnitus,etc.It can also manifest as extreme restlessness,a sense of impending death,gradually developing progressive numbness from affected limb to healthy limb,abdominal distension,increased intracranial pressure,or signs of sudden increase in blood pressure,rapid heart rate,and other signs.Fully understanding myeloid hypertension-like syndrome and selecting reasonable treatment measures can effectively alleviate and prevent this complication.
