Current situation and development trend of stomatology teaching evalua-tion in Chinese universities
Oral diseases have brought a heavy global disease burden,highlighting the importance of improving the professional ability,clinical skills,and experience accumulation of dental students.Therefore,how to keep up with the changes and improve the quality and effectiveness of dental education is the eternal mission of the dental profession.In order to assist in achieving the aim above,this article starts with the current main teaching methods of dentistry,such as theoretical teaching and practical teaching,and reviews the progress of stomatology education assessment in Chinese universities.It is found that most scholars in China evaluate their teaching using the results of quantitative writing tests and practical or digital practical tests,as well as student feedback using questionnaire surveys.However,the key concepts and indicators of current stomatology education assessment are not that clear and complete.According to those shortcomings,this article provides suggestions for the development trend of stomatology education assessment in the future.It is suggested that the concepts of student experience and student outcome should be comprehensively considered,and teachers,and patients or nursing and medical technicians should be involved in the joint use of quantitative and qualitative assessment methods.Also,digital,"Internet+",virtual reality,artificial intelligence,and other advanced technologies and equipment should be positively introduced in the field of stomatology education assessment and comparative research on different education assessment methods should be positively carried out.Finally explore a more scientific,standardized,and comprehensive teaching evaluation system,continually improving the overall teaching quality of teachers and universities and cultivating more high-quality stomatology professionals.
