Exploration and practice on the model of practice education for junior medical students under the perspective of embodied cognition theory
Medicine is an empirical discipline and clinical practice is crucial to the education of medical students.Based on embodied cognition theory, this paper explores the laws and meanings behind a practical education model for medical students in the lower grades.Embodied cognition theory emphasises the interactions between body, mind, and environment, providing a new perspective for medical education. The School of Acupuncture-Moxibustion and Tuina,Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, reveals the inner journey of students'behavioural, emotional, and linguistic interactions with the environment by designing a practice-based parenting model. The practice project aims to help students transition to clinical education, where students interact with doctors and patients, participate in departmental work, learn about wards, and observe different cases, thus effectively alleviating identity conflicts and promoting their socialisation process. At the same time, the theory of embodied cognition has application prospects in Chinese medicine education, which can help students establish correct cognitive patterns and cultivate practical application ability.
