Action path analysis of intolerance of uncertainty on depressive symptom of primary caregivers of patients with malignant bone tumors
Objective To analyze status quo of intolerance of uncertainty and depressive symptom of primary caregivers of patients with malignant bone tumors, and explore action path. Methods A total of 230 primary caregivers of patients with malignant bone tumors admitted to Department of Orthopedics in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from October 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.Basic information questionnaire, intolerance of uncertainty scale-12(IUS-12),distress thermometer(DT),psychological capital questionnaire(PCQ-24),and patient health questionnaire-9(PHQ-9)were used for questionnaire survey.Chain mediation effect of psychological pain and psychological capital between intolerance of uncertainty and depressive symptoms was analyzed. Results Total score of IUS-12 in primary caregivers of patients with malignant bone tumors was(32.13±6.55)points,total score of DT was(5.34±2.46)points,total score of PCQ-24 was(84.22±11.39)points,and total score of PHQ-9 was(9.69±2.24)points.IUS-12 score was positively correlated with DT and PHQ-9 scores(r=0.531,0.458,P<0.05),and negatively correlated with PCQ-24 score(r=-0.382,P<0.05).DT score was negatively correlated with PCQ-24 score(r=-0.542,P<0.05),and positively correlated with PHQ-9 score(r=0.586,P<0.05).PCQ-24 score was negatively correlated with PHQ-9 score(r=-0.512,P<0.05).The results of structural equation model showed that x2/df=2.864,GFI=0.956,AGFI=0.924,NFI=0.983,CFI=0.982,RMSEA=0.048,indicated a good fit of the model. The path results showed that direct effect of intolerance of uncertainty on depressive symptom was 0.362,and there was mediating effect between psychological pain and psychological capital(P<0.05).Conclusion The intolerance of uncertainty in primary caregivers of patients with malignant bone tumors at a medium to high level, and depression symptoms are significant, with positive correlation between the two.The intolerance of uncertainty in primary caregivers of patients with malignant bone tumors can directly affect depressive symptoms,or indirectly affect depressive symptoms through the mediating effects of psychological pain and psychological capital.
