Mediating effect of positive coping style on disease severity,self-awareness and treatment attitude in patients with first-episode untreated schizophrenia
Objective To investigate the mediating effect of positive coping style on the disease severity,self-awareness and treatment attitude in patients with first-episode untreated schizophrenia.Methods From January 2020 to October 2023,190 cases of patients with first-episode untreated schizophrenia who admitted in Shandong Mental Health Center were selected.The positive and negative syndrome scale(PANSS)was used to assess disease severity,the positive coping style scale of simplified coping style questionnaire was used to evaluate patients'coping styles,and the insight and treatment attitudes questionnaire(ITAQ)assessed patients'self-awareness and treatment attitude.The correlation among disease severity,positive coping style,self-awareness and treatment attitude was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis,a model of the mediating effect of positive coping style on disease severity,self-awareness and treatment attitude in first-episode untreated schizophrenia patients was construct.Results The PANSS score was(87.29±9.34)points,the positive coping style scale score was(6.89±2.43)points,and ITAQ score was(7.04±2.90)points.Disease severity was negatively correlated with positive coping style,self-awareness and treatment attitude(r＜0,P＜0.05),and positive coping style was positively correlated with self-awareness and treatment attitude(r＞0,P＜0.05).The positive coping style had a partial mediating effect between disease severity,self-awareness and treatment attitude,accounting for 16.98％.Conclusion The disease severity can indirectly affect self-awareness and treatment attitude through positive coping style,improve the level of patients'positive coping style,so as to improve the level of patients'self-awareness and treatment attitude level.
