Research progress on ferroptosis in sepsis induced myocardial injury
Ferroptosis is a form of programmed cell death which is associated with iron accumulation and lipid peroxidation by unique morphological,genetic and biochemical characteristics.Sepsis is a life-threatening multiple organ dysfunction syndrome caused by an imbalance in the body's immune response to infection.Sepsis induced myocardial injury is a serious complication of sepsis and an important factor exacerbating patient mortality,causing great burden on society and families.Ferroptosis is closely related to the occurrence of sepsis induced myocardial injury.This article reviews the mechanisms of ferroptosis and sepsis induced myocardial injury,and explores research progress of ferroptosis in sepsis induced myocardial injury,in order to provide new ideas for the treatment of sepsis induced myocardial injury.
