Role and potential mechanisms of PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of epilepsy
PANoptosis is a novel form of cell death characterized by features of pyroptosis, apoptosis and necroptosis, regulated by PANoptosome complex. This article reviews the importance and molecular regulatory mechanisms of PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of epilepsy, and analyzes its role in hippocampal neuronal cell death and neuroinflammation.PANoptosis plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of epilepsy, regulating PANoptosome complex and related signaling pathways, and is closely related to the development of epilepsy.PANoptosis regulatory factors can serve as potential targets for epilepsy treatment, and future research directions are proposed, including their roles and therapeutic applications in different types and stages of epilepsy.
