Research progress of miR-10b in cellular senescence
Cellular senescence is described as a permanent state of cell cycle arrest, which can delay the progression of proliferative pathology such as tumors and accelerate the degenerative process of aging in the body.Given the crucial role of cellular senescence in many age-related diseases, biomarkers for quantifying and evaluating aging levels are still being explored. The microRNA regulation is closely related to occurrence and development of age-related diseases. The microRNA,including miR-10b,participate in the process of cellular senescence by regulating cell cycle, telomerase activity, free radical levels, and mitochondrial function, and exert beneficial or harmful effects. This article reviews definition and mechanism of cellular senescence,miR-10b and its regulation of cellular aging,as well as the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine acting on miR-10b.It explores the feasibility of miR-10b as a biomarker and potential therapeutic target for predicting and evaluating cellular senescence.
