Treatment with syndrome differentiation of benign prostatic hyperplasia based on the theory of"yang transforming qi and yin shaping up body"
Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)is the most common urinary system disease that causes difficulty urinating, and is classified as a type of retention of urine in traditional Chinese medicine. This article explores the etiology, pathogenesis and treatment methods of BPH based on the theory of"yang transforming qi and yin shaping up body"in Huangdi Neijing. It believes that the deficiency of yang transforming qi and the excess of yin shaping up body lead to metabolic disorder of qi,blood and body fluid in the body, resulting in the accumulation of pathological products such as turbid phlegm and blood stasis.Over time,it will cause urethral stricture,or even occlusion, resulting in dysuria such as urine waiting, thin urine line, and retention of urine. The treatment principle for BPH is to adjust yin and yang, with the foundation of strengthening spleen, and kidney, warming yang and transforming qi,and the key to dispelling evil, unblocking collaterals, and dispersing hardness and shape. This article summarizes relevant clinical and basic research, confirms the effectiveness of above treatment methods, and provides new dialectical thinking and theoretical basis for clinical treatment of BPH.
