Two cases of giant perianal epidermoid cyst and literature review
Giant perianal epidermoid cysts with a diameter greater than 5 cm are relatively rare in the clinic, and are more difficult to deal with.Delayed treatment or spontaneous rupture of cysts can easily be misdiagnosed as other diseases such as perianal abscess or anal fistula. If the resection is incomplete or simple incision and drainage are performed,it can cause a high recurrence rate, which poses a certain challenges and difficulties for clinical medical workers. This disease is generally not connected to the anus and rectum, but with the gradual enlargement of the mass, there are still risks of rupture and secondary infection.Regardless of whether there are clinical symptoms,it is recommended to surgery as soon as possible.Surgical completely excision of the cyst and parietal tissue is an important principle of treatment, and the integrity of the mass resection is emphasized to reduce the postoperative recurrence rate. This article reviews the diagnosis and treatment of two cases of giant perianal epidermoid cysts and combines literature review in order to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
