Research progress on the pathogenesis of functional constipation
Functional constipation is a common digestive system disease in clinic.The incidence rate is increasing year by year,which has a serious impact on people's physical and mental health and quality of life.The pathogenesis of this disease is complex and currently unclear.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the pathogenesis of constipation is mainly due to conduction disorders in large intestine,which are closely related to multiple organs such as spleen,stomach,heart,lungs,liver and kidney.Western medicine believes that the mechanism of functional constipation is mainly related to brain-gut-microbiota axis,psychological factors,enteric nervous system,enteric neurotransmitters,aquaporins,Cajal-interstitial cells and colon smooth muscle.This article summarizes relevant research on the pathogenesis of functional constipation from two aspects of traditional Chinese and western medicine,and proposes prospects for the future,aiming to provide new ideas and references for further research.
