Mediating effect of psychological resilience between social support and preoperative anxiety in female patients undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer
Objective To explore the mediating effect of psychological resilience between social support and preoperative anxiety in female patients undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer. Methods A total of 540 female patients undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer from December 2023 to May 2024 in the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province were selected as the research subjects.A general information questionnaire, state anxiety scale, psychological resilience scale, and social support rating scale were used to analyze the relationship between anxiety, psychological resilience, and social support, and a mediation effect test was conducted. Results Preoperative anxiety in female patients undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer was negatively correlated with social support and its subjective, objective, and utilization dimensions(r=-0.353,-0.327,-0.217,-0.277,P<0.001);preoperative anxiety was negatively correlated with psychological resilience and its resilience, strength, and optimism dimensions(r=-0.533,-0.427,-0.468,-0.611,P<0.001);social support was positively correlated with psychological resilience(r=0.449,P<0.001);psychological resilience partially mediated the relationship between preoperative anxiety and social support, accounting for 66%of the total effect. Conclusion Psychological resilience is a mediating variable between preoperative anxiety and social support in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer for egg retrieval.Medical staff should pay attention to the impact of social support on preoperative anxiety, and summarize the effects of different psychological resilience on patients.Intervention measures based on different resilience should be carried out to alleviate preoperative anxiety in patients.
