Current status of fear of falling in elderly patients with chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy for ovarian cancer and its influencing fartors analysis
Objective To investigate the occurrence status of fear of falling(FOF)in elderly ovarian cancer chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuritis(CIPN)patients,explore its related influencing factors,and provide a reference basis for the development of precise nursing programs.Methods From August 2023 to May 2024,234 elderly ovarian cancer CIPN patients in the Gynecology Ward of Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University were selected by convenience sampling method,and questionnaires were administered,the general information questionnaire,the comprehensive assessment scale for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in cancer(CAS-CIPN),and the fear of falling questionnaire-revised(FFQ-R)were used,multiplelinear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of FOF.Results The FFQ-R scores of elderly ovarian cancer patients of different ages,body mass index,chemotherapy cycle,sleep quality,ovarian cancer recurrence,the experience of fall in the last year,history of neoadjuvant chemotherapy,and exercise were compared,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The CAS-CIPN score of elderly ovarian cancer patients was(22.61±7.30)points.The FFQ-R score was(38.46±3.41)points.Patients'CAS-CIPN scores were positively correlated with FFQ-R scores(r=0.437,P＜0.01).Multifactorial analysis showed that sleep quality and CAS-CIPN score were influencing factors for FOF in elderly ovarian cancer CIPN patients(P＜0.05).Conclusion Elderly ovarian cancer patients with CIPN have high levels of FOF,and it is recommended that healthcare professionals incorporate FOF into the symptom management of elderly ovarian cancer patients,and formulate individualized exercise and psychological care interventions for high-risk factors to enhance the quality of patients'survival.
