Anti-tumor mechanism of oncolytic virus and its research progress in the treatment of osteosarcoma
Osteosarcoma is a primary malignant tumor of bone tissue, which often occurs in children and adolescents, and generally produces clinical symptoms such as local pain, swelling and active deformity. At present, surgical resection and chemotherapy are common treatment types for osteosarcoma, but due to its high malignancy, drug resistance, easy recurrence and distant metastasis, clinical treatment effect is not ideal. In recent years, oncolytic viruses have become a new direction in the research of osteosarcoma as a novel immunotherapy approach involved in tumor treatment. This article aims to review definition and classification of oncolytic viruses,anti-tumor mechanisms, research progress in the treatment of osteosarcoma, and the efficacy of synergistic treatment with other therapies for osteosarcoma, providing new treatment ideas for osteosarcoma.
