Research progress of Hippo signaling pathway in colorectal cancer
Abnormal activation of Hippo signaling pathway is one of the important mechanisms for progression and invasion of most tumors,and also an important factor for poor prognosis.Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors,and treatment outcomes for most patients are not ideal.Hippo signaling pathway plays a crucial role in occurrence and development of colorectal cancer,playing important roles in tumor stem cells,immunotherapy and tumor metabolism.The expression level and activity of this pathway are influenced by various factors,including gene mutations,epigenetic modifications,etc.Through its effector molecule Yes-associated protein/transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif,Hippo signaling pathway regulates multiple aspects of colorectal cancer cells and forms a complex interaction network with other signaling pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin and Notch,jointly participating in occurrence and development of colorectal cancer.This article aims to review expression regulation,functional role and interaction with other signaling pathways of Hippo signaling pathway in colorectal cancer,providing new treatment ideas for colorectal cancer.
