Professor Wei Zixiao's experience in the treatment of diabetic gastro-paresis based on the theory of"zhongsheng zangman"
Diabetic gastroparesis(DGP)is a common clinical complication of diabetes mellitus,which is difficult to treat and prone to recurrent symptoms.Professor Wei Zixiao believes that DGP is characterized by food accumulation,phlegm stasis and excessive pathogenic toxin based on the theory of"zhongsheng zangman",middle energizer dysfunction and qi stagnation are the root causes of the disease.Treatment should closely follow characteristics of the pathogenesis,combine symptom manifestations,distinguish between deficiency and excess of the specimen,and treat it in stages.In acute phase,the focus is on treating symptoms,emphasizing the elimination of visible evil qi,for those who accumulate and delay eating evil,treatment should be given to eliminate food stagnation,harmonize stomach and strengthen spleen;for those who have stopped the accumulation of phlegm evil,a phlegm resolving and dampness dispelling and qi regulating machine should be given;for those with blood stasis and obstruction of the meridians,promote blood circulation,remove blood stasis and promote qi circulation to unblock the meridians.During relief period,the main focus is on addressing the root cause and emphasizing the restoration of cardinal's function,for those with weak central yang,the method is to raise yang and replenish qi;for those with stomach qi inversion,harmonize stomach and reduce qi;for those with liver qi stagnation,it is recommended to soothe liver,regulate qi,and promote the recovery of spleen and stomach function.One case is attached to this article in order to provide ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment of DGP.
