Objective To evaluate the application and effect of the structure-process-outcome model in hospital medical consumables access management. Methods Based on the structure-process-effect model, the hospital medical consumables access management system was constructed. The medical consumables accessed by Peking University First Hospital from July 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects, and the results were evaluated in terms of three dimensions:organizational structure, process management, and outcome. The rate of consumables access pass rate, the consumption ratio, the incidence rate of adverse events, and the incidence rate of medical disputes were evaluated. Results After the implementation of the medical consumables access management system, the pass rate of consumables access has increased(p<0.05).The consumption ratio of some departments has decreased significantly(p<0.05).The incidence of adverse events has decreased, and there have been no medical disputes caused by consumables. Conclusion The structure-process-outcome model has achieved obvious effects in medical consumables access management, and initially realized a scientific, standardized and effective management of consumables access.
