Objective To analyze the effect of the training system of discipline leader reserve candidates in a tertiary hospital in Beijing on the cultivation of scientific research ability,and to provide a basis for the establishment and improvement of the talent training system in public hospitals.Methods A propensity score matching method was used to select the reserve and control groups from the database of discipline leader reserve candidates and employees in our hospital,and the changes in the scientific achievements of the two groups were compared.Results The number of publications and the impact factor of the reserve candidates for chief were significantly higher than those of the non-selected candidates during the selection period.The number of publications and impact factor,the number of grants,and the amount of funding received after the selection period were also significantly higher than those of the non-selected candidates.The number of publications and the impact factor of the reserve candidates for heads of department were significantly higher during the selection period than before the selection.The number of publications and impact factor,the number of grants,and the amount of funding received after the selection period were also significantly higher than those before the selection period.Conclusion The training system of reserve candidates for discipline leaders can effectively improve scientific research capacity and contribute to discipline construction.
