Scientific evaluation is the key and foundation for building a graded long-term care service system for the elderly. This paper reviewed the current status of research on tiered long-term care service assessment abroad, focusing on three core areas:care objects, assessment contents, and grading standards.Commercial long-term care insurance in Germany and Japan is graded according to the time of care,in South Korea,France and the United States is graded according to physical and mental function, and social long-term care insurance in the United States is graded according to physical and mental status and resource utilization. All countries provide multi-level care services based on their classification.Based on the summary of the advanced experience of these countries, recommendations are made to reasonably expand the coverage of long-term care, formulate unified content and standards of long-term care grading services, and fully play the supporting role of digital technology in long-term care grading services.
