The syntactic structures of the contemporary popular construction"No X No Y"are mainly divided into title type and continuation type,suggestion type and explanation type,co-occurrence type and coordination type.The semantic and expressive effects of the construction include topic function,cognitive function,and questioning function.The dynamic construction of"No X No Y"is mainly manifested as:semantic basis shifting from emphasis on generalization to correlation,pragmatic expression shifting from highlighting results to highlighting conditions,and subjective modality shifting from emphasizing objectivity to subjectivity.From the perspective of generation mechanism and evo-lutionary motivation,reconstruction mechanism and imposition mode,imitation and analogy and metaphor,metonymy mechanism,and psychological cognition have all promoted the formation and development of the popular construction of"No X No Y".
