Research on Ladylike Concept from The Book of Songs
The idea of ladylike concept originated from The Book of Songs,and gradually developed into the ideal female personality norm.Many works in The Book of Songs,such as Guan Jv,Jing Nv,Dong Men Zhi Chi,and Shuo Ren,are about the characteristics of lady image and the meaning of the ideal lady.Combining the articles in The Book of Songs and Chu Ci,as well as other documents in the similar age,we can know that lady is a young woman who has a beautiful appearance,a quiet temperament and a good heart.The interpretation of late generations is often influenced by Confucianism,and the lady is held up as a model of feminine virtue,even the idea of later generations directly into the understanding of the concept of lady.Finally,it leads to the wrong understanding of the concept of lady in The Book of Songs.
