On the Relationship between Mobile Phone Dependence and Academic Help-seeking among College Students
In order to explore the relationship between mobile phone dependence and academic help-seeking among college students,685 students in a university,Hubei Province were investigated by using Mobile Phone Dependence Index Scale and Academic Help-seeking Behavior Scale.The results showed that the detection rate of mobile phone dependence was 37.1%.The main characteristics are:using mobile phone to relieve the feeling of depression,using mobile phone for a longer time than expected,spending too much time on mobile phone;the overall performance of college students'academic help-seeking behavior is positive;college students'mobile phone dependence has a significant positive correlation with executive help-seeking,and with avoidance help-seeking,and a significant negative correlation with in-strumental help-teacher.Mobile phone dependence was the best predictor of avoidant hell-seeking,explaining 12%of the variation,followed by executive help-seeking,explaining 10%of the variation.
