On Social Governance in the Inter-provincial Border Areas in the Ming Dynasty——Based on the Investigations of Governor Wang Yangming and Governor Wang Shizhen
The problem of social governance in the inter-provincial border areas has existed in all dynasties,espe-cially in Southern Jiangxi area and Yunyang area in the Ming Dynasty.Governor of Southern Jiangxi Wang Yangming and Yunyang Governor Wang Shizhen adopted their own governance strategies.Wang Yangming set up an integrated social governance system by setting up new counties,creating brand laws,local conventions,and customs from the perspective of moral education.Governor Wang Shizhen paid special attention to cultural and educational development,cleansing out political corruption,water conservancy,welfare of the people,the whole military and political,civil and military and ex-ert social governance.Governor Wang Yangming and Governor Wang Shizhen showed the basic form of social governance in the inter-provincial border areas of the Dynasty,revealing the social governance mechanism,setting governors as gov-ernance institutions,emphasizing the governance concept of combining morality and law,and implementing governance measures of co-governance between government and people.
