Mr.Zhou Dafeng,a renowned Chinese composer and music educator,is celebrated for popular vocal works such as"Picking Tealeaves Dance"and operatic compositions such as Shao Opera"Three Attacks on White Bones Demon".However,his most significant contributions lie in music education,where he has invested substantially more time and energy than in composition.With nearly 20 monographs such as Knowledge and Methods of Appreciating Music and The Anthology of Zhou Dafeng's Writings on Music Education,numer-ous journal articles,and practical experience,Zhou has established himself as a leading figure in the field.He be-lieves his impact on music education surpasses his compositional achievements.Mr Zhou's practical experience,theoretical thinking,and teaching methods in music education can be found in his publications.Almost all of these researches raised,analysed,and solved problems from the perspectives of the practice and the perception in music education.By applying inversional thinking to Zhou's work,this study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of his influential contributions to music education.The so-called"reverse thinking"in music education begins by examining the outcomes of previous music education.It intends to articulate the genuine needs of mu-sic learners,the public,educators,administrators,and society at large,thereby redefining the purpose,theory,and methodology of music education.
