The percussion artists of White Character Opera(bai-zi-xi)in Hailufeng area,Guangdong,feature a set of folk music language including jargon,terms,pithy formulas and proverbs.Around these idioms,if we continue to ask,we will find that musicians have already used these idioms to vividly express the deep cultural characteristics of local music.There are similar musical expressions in the traditional operas,gongs/drums and folk music in many parts of China.These musical words can be combined into a huge"Synonymic Group of Folk Music"This shows that there are some common morphological characteristics,creative laws and thinking modes of musicians among the folk gongs and drums in different places.Learning,understanding,analyzing and researching these musical languages are not only an important way to recognize local traditional music,but also an important medium for the researchers to learn to communicate,and it is also a reciprocal way to enrich the Chinese musical discourse system.
