Objective To observe the effect of peritoneal injection of pyruvate peritoneal dialysis solution on the abdominal organs in septic shock rats. Methods Fifty-four healthy male SD rats were used to replicate a septic shock model by intra-venous injection of endotoxins. The 45 successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into three groups:single intrave-nous resuscitation ( group A),intravenous resuscitation+peritoneal injection of lactate peritoneal dialysis solution ( group B),and intravenous resuscitation+peritoneal injection of pyruvate peritoneal dialysis solution ( group C) .Intravenous resus-citation was performed by rapid intravenous infusion of Ringer's solution at 25 mL/kg for 30 min, followed by peritoneal in-jection of lactate peritoneal dialysis solution at 100 mL/kg for 20 min in group B,or an equal amount of pyruvate peritoneal dialysis solution in group C.After 20 h of resuscitation, the survival status of the rats was recorded.Changes in the abdomi-nal organs of the survived rats were observed anatomically, and the liver and ileum tissues were collected to determine the dry wet weight ratio,MDA content,MPO activity, and TNF-α.Histopathological sections were stained with HE.Results The survival rate of rats in groups B and C was higher than that of group A after resuscitation for 20 h,while that of group C was higher than that of group B ( P<0.05) .The MDA content,MPO activity,TNF-α,tissue edema, and morphological damage in the liver and ileum tissues of rats in groups B and C were lower than those of group A,and group C was lower than group B in the above indexes (P<0.05).Conclusion Peritoneal injection of pyruvate peritoneal dialysis solution in-hibits lipid peroxidation and inflammatory reactions in the abdominal organs of septic shock rats and thus reduces the dam-age to the abdominal organs, which improves the treatment effectiveness of shock.
