New development of dietary geography researches in the 21st century
In the 21st century,marked by the accelerated processes of globalization and modernization,hu-man diets face many new problems and the study of dietary geography also shows new development trends.E-merging academic trends such as place theory,spatial critical theory,the new mobility paradigm and scale theory have triggered new thinking about the political,economic,and social issues in the evolution of diets.Research themes in dietary geography is closely related to the development of the times.,and new break-throughs have been made in many fields,such as in food culture landscape and food space diffusion,regional food consumption behaviors,food culture politics and food embodied experiences.The related disciplines re-presented by anthropology,sociology,psychology and tourism science emphasize dietary mobility,materiality and cultural attributes,and focus on the media influence and psychological cognition of food,providing valua-ble insights for dietary geography research.The research methods have been updated and iterated,character-ized by a wide range of data sources and multiple data analysis.Future key research directions in domestic di-etary geography are expected to focus on trans-local dietary production and consumption,healthy eating and consumers responsibility awareness,and the indigenous turn of dietary geography research.
