The study of the food activities of Northern Song literati on post roads in Liao territory
During the Song Dynasty,literati created a large number of food poems on the way to Liao,vividly showcasing the rich and colorful food culture of northern post roads.These works and related materials have reflected the food categories,the use of tableware,the dress code during banquets,and the taboos during ban-quets(drinking)in the Liao territory.In the Liao territory,the envoys of the Northern Song Dynasty could not only taste a wide variety of Tibetan and Han cuisine,but also experience the unique diplomatic style of the post road cuisine culture.At the same time,they would occasionally accept the high standard hospitality of Yujiu banquets.The literary works of the envoys of the Northern Song Dynasty opened up a new chapter in the fragrant Song Dynasty literary garde.
