Under the impact of new managerialism,the governance of cross-disciplinary or-ganizations is trapped in governance dilemmas:long-term effect of cross-disciplinary research and short-term requirements of assessment;cross-boundary collaboration and competitive re-sources distribution;public interest pursuit of researches and demands of market economy.These dilemmas stem from the different logic of new managerialism and cross-disciplinary construction.Specifically,the differences lie in the expectations of academic input and out-put rates,the approaches in applying value-added academic resources,and preferences for value selection in academic research.To get out of the governance dilemmas,cross-discipli-nary organizations can find a balance between academic and administrative management tradi-tions,create favorable conditions for academic cooperation within a competitive environ-ment,and consider both applied and basic researches in addressing problem-oriented issues.
