From the end of Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,the course of labor educa-tion in modern secondary normal schools evolved from Manual Craft through Applied Indus-trial and Agricultural Techniques to Laboring under the influence of different educational thoughts.On the one hand,it followed the development of the labor education in primary and secondary schools;on another hand,it acquired its own features.The course objectives setting went from single orientation to pluralistic one;the course content diverted from the acquisition of labor knowledge and skills to the integration of labor theories and practice;the course lieu changed from classroom to the field investigation.Learning from the historical e-volution of labor education,the contemporary labor curriculum setting in normal colleges should take as its goal man's free and comprehensive development,construct integrated course content of knowledge,skills and emotion,and establish the combined course lieu in and outside the schools.
