Bibliometrics is adopted to analyze the researches on engineering education accredi-tation based on the literature of the Science Citation Database(1991-2021).The results show that the researches on engineering education accreditation are still growing in terms of their spatial and temporal distribution,despite the overall weakness and absence of scholars focusing continuously on this field.The United States is still playing the leading role in this field.The hot spots of the researches include the motivation,methodology,range and influ-ence of the accreditation.The knowledge base of the accreditation is composed of learning outcomes,competency,and subject teaching.In terms of the trend of the researches,tool development will become the focus of efforts to obtain accreditation,and the fine granulation of the competencies of the graduates will become the focus of inquiry.The fields waiting for further researches include the implementation of the concepts,standards and programs of the accreditation and its effectiveness.
