Loyalty and forgiveness is the core of Confucianism and one of the important prin-ciples in dealing with interpersonal relations."Loyalty"reflects the principle of"establishing others as you would establish yourself and helping others to develop as you would help your-self to.""Forgiveness"is the basis of implementing the principle of"do not do to others what you would not have others do to you."Loyalty and forgiveness are the two sides of one entity,highlighting the awareness of putting yourself in another person's shoes.With their various personalities,contemporary college students tend to be strongly alert and self-cen-tered in interpersonal interactions.In this case,Confucian loyalty and forgiveness has refer-ential and practical significance.It is the path to approach Confucian benevolence and an ef-fective way of self cultivation.In the meanwhile,it is the relational standard in emotional in-teractions.In the interpersonal communication of college students in the new era,dialectical cognition and practice of loyalty and forgiveness is conducive to establishing harmonious in-terpersonal relationship.
