Abstract
The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers tells about human farces in London in Gothic style,with each farce per-formed by the main characters of the novel via the rite of passing.With magic,identity and power as the entry point,this paper discusses how steampunk that carries out its own characteristics of alternative-history expresses personal appetite,so as to give vent to personal emotions,reconstruct individual codes,break the obstinate barrier between"true-self"and"false-self",and build a more sound and perfect self.
