马礼逊与《三字经》英译研究

摘要
马礼逊的《三字经》译本以《三字经》早期中文版本为底本.译本没有遵循中文原文中的固有格式,而是采用"直译"与"意译"相结合、"脚注"与"行间注"共辅助的翻译策略,体现出以"读者"为中心的翻译理念.译本中亦存在一些漏译甚至是错译之处,在一定程度上代表了早期中国蒙学典籍英译的普遍特征.
Abstract
Robert Morrison's translation of San Tsi King(The Three-Character Scripture)was based on the early version of San Tsi King.Morrison's translation did not rigidly follow the form of the original Chinese text,but a-dopted the translation strategy of"literal translation"and"free translation",using"footnotes"and"interlinear notes",reflecting the reader-centered translation concept.There were also some omissions and mistakes in Morri-son's version,which,to some extent,represents the common characteristics of the early English translation of tradi-tional Chinese enlightenment reading.
